Meet Captain Brad
Your tour guide is Captain Brad Wheeler who has over 30 years of experience operating boats of various sizes. Brad spent 16 years operating the Sitka Emergency Response Vessel and also has 5 years of commercial fishing experience in the Sitka Area. Brad is licensed with the U.S. Coast Guard as a Captain.
Brad is a military veteran who retired from the Sitka Police Department after 20 years of service. He has lived in Alaska for 27 years and in Sitka for over 20 years. He is an avid outdoorsman with a vast knowledge of the Sitka area and what it has to offer.
The Vessel
The boat you will be riding on is a 24 foot Hewescraft Ocean Pro with an enclosed heated cabin. The boat has 2 captain seats and 2 bench seats that will comfortably accommodate 6 people. The boat has a portable head (toilet) available, but privacy is limited and it’s recommended you use the restroom facilities prior to departure. Safety features include all U.S. Coast Guard required items including VHF radio and emergency beacon.
